Contract Position (8 months) with the Mississippi Coding Academies
Overview:
The Mississippi Coding Academies and the Mississippi AI Collaborative are seeking an AI focused Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a strong advisory background to lead the integration of generative AI technologies in Mississippi’s business and not for profit sectors. The goal of this unique position is to launch a community focused and student-led AI Agency. You will manage a group of Jackson State University apprentices, mentor students in AI consulting, and build a sustainable AI agency strategy.
This role is not only pivotal in shaping the Mississippi AI Collaborative’s technology strategy but also crucial in advising and guiding our partners towards digital transformation and technology adoption. As CTO for the Mississippi AI Collaborative, you will consult with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage and integrate AI technical capabilities and expertise into new and existing workstreams.
Key CTO Responsibilities:
- Data and Technical Consultation: Deeply understand partners’ data landscapes and needs to provide strategic technical advice and solutions.
- Technology Deployment: Lead the advisory and deployment of technical solutions, focusing on Power BI, Azure, AI, and Power Platform technologies.
- Strategic Leadership and Advisory: Develop a technology strategy that leverages generative AI, providing expert advice to partners on technology integration and digital transformation.
- Educational Program Advisory: Guide the development of an AI-focused apprenticeship program, ensuring it aligns with industry needs and technological advancements.
- Project Management: Apply expert project management skills to oversee both internal and external technology deployments.
- Lead the creation of the AI agency pilot and build a sustainability strategy for 2025.
Qualifications:
- Advanced Technical Knowledge: Expertise in AI, particularly generative AI, Power BI, Azure, and Power Platform technologies.
- Strategic Advisor: Proven experience as a technical advisor with a strong ability to develop and implement technology strategies.

Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary range of $82k commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Location:
Onsite at Mississippi Coding Academies in Jackson, Mississippi, with occasional travel for partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
Contract :
8 Months with the Mississippi Coding Academies reporting to the MCA Executive Director.
