Hi, I’m Jordan.

I’m an Instructor at Mississippi Coding Academies, where I help train the next generation of Mississippi technologists in software development, problem-solving, and the skills needed to thrive in modern tech careers. I’m passionate about breaking down complex concepts, meeting learners where they are, and helping them build real confidence as they grow into capable developers.

About Me

I’m a full-stack developer, educator, and lifelong learner with a strong commitment to practical, hands-on teaching. My approach is rooted in the belief that technology is best understood by doing — by building, experimenting, making mistakes, and pushing through challenges.

My teaching philosophy:

  • Start with the student. Everyone’s background is different — that’s an opportunity, not an obstacle.
  • Practice over theory. You become a developer by coding every day.
  • Communication matters. Tech is a team sport — collaboration is a core skill.
  • Teach the “why.” Understanding the reasoning behind code builds independence and confidence.

I enjoy watching students hit those breakthrough moments where everything clicks and they realize they can do this.

Outside MCA, I’m always learning — exploring new frameworks, refining my skills, and staying connected with the developer community.

What I Do at MCA

As an instructor at MCA, I focus on:

  • Teaching full-stack development coursework
  • Leading project-based learning, including real-world and client-based builds
  • Guiding professional skills development, including resume prep, soft skills, and interview practice
  • Supporting workforce pathways within the NeXT ecosystem
  • Building a culture of accountability, curiosity, and growth

My goal is to help learners not only understand code but understand the mindset of a developer — problem-solving, persistence, and adaptability.

Mississippi Coding Academies (MCA) is a nonprofit workforce program providing no-cost, full-time tech training to Mississippians who want to start a new career in technology. We specialize in intensive, project-driven programs designed to produce job-ready developers and IT professionals.
