Our Directors Win Mississippi Business Journal 2019 Top in Tech Award

Directors for the Mississippi Coding Academies for both the Jackson and Golden Triangle locations have been recognized for leading the way in innovation and technology in Mississippi

(JACKSON, MISS.) The Mississippi Coding Academies are proud to have two board members and directors recognized for their contributions in advancing technology and workforce development for the state of Mississippi during the Mississippi Business Journal Top in Tech breakfast awards ceremony at the Old Capital Inn in downtown Jackson on Thursday, May 30.

The Mississippi Business Journal introduced the Top in Tech awards in 2017 to honor businesses and individuals that innovate, create jobs and contribute to Mississippi’s economy. This year, 25 honorees were selected from a variety of industries including government, education, health care, security, and telecommunications; who are leading the way in technology and innovation.

Rich Sun, co-founder and director of the Jackson cohort of the Mississippi Coding Academies was one of the 25 honorees; along with Dr. Sarah Lee, director of the Mississippi Coding Academies Golden Triangle location, and assistant department head and associate clinical professor in the department of Computer and Information Science in the Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State University.

The Mississippi Coding Academies, with locations in Jackson and Starkville, offer a no-cost, 11-month program to transform high school or college graduates into certified full-stack computer coders and web developers. In addition, Veterans Code, a new program fueled by Comcast, will be launching in late June.
